Dancing On Ice’s Christopher Dean suffered a nasty bone fracture just days before the new series’ live launch on Sunday.

The former Olympic champion and ITV show judge, 64, took to social media to reveal he went to hospital after breaking his finger.

However, he wasn’t performing an elaborate maneuver on the ice when this happened, he actually tripped over his suitcase.

Christopher posted a picture of his bandaged pinky on Twitter and wrote: ‘Yep broken [grimacing face].’

Skating pro Yebin Mok wrote: ‘Oh no! Feel better soon! XX.’

And Robin Johnstone writing: ‘Oh no ouch!!! Feel better soon xo.’

Christopher joked that he was performing a move called Iron Lotus when it happened.

Before clarifying that it was just your suitcase that caused the accident.

He wrote: ‘We were trying Iron Lotus but ended up doing a Half Nelson… or I just fell over a suitcase in the middle of the night [laughing emoji].’

But luckily, the little accident won’t stop him from attending Sunday’s much-anticipated show.

He will join his professional partner Jayne Torvill as a judge on the ice panel alongside dancers Ashley Banjo and Oti Mabuse.

The show will continue to be hosted by Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.

The night before, Christopher attended Gordon Ramsay’s party in honor of his new show, Next Level Chef.

Dancing On Ice starts on Sunday 15th January at 6.30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
