Move over Prince Harry! Sarah Ferguson gives new interview to Hungarian radio

In the past week alone, Prince Harry has given bombshell interviews to ITV, CBS, Good Morning America and People magazine.

But following the Duke of Sussex’s publicity blitz to promote his new Spare memoir, the Duchess of York also gave a new interview.

Tonight, Sarah Ferguson shared a behind-the-scenes glimpse of her Retro Radio interview recording, which has yet to air, in Budapest this week.

Taking to Instagram, she praised Abaházi Csaba for being “a great presenter” and thanked the station’s team for welcoming her to the studio.

The interview seems to have promoted Sarah’s upcoming novel, ‘A Most Intriguing Lady’, which is due out this spring.

In one photo, the mother of two is seen signing one of her books with a black pen at the recording table in the studio.

In another, Sarah appears happy while talking to the show’s host, Abaházi, who is opposite her.

She captioned the post: ‘We had so much fun in the studio recording for Retro Radio! Don’t mind me while I reminisce. Thanks for having me on Retro Radio and thanks Abaházi Csaba for being such a great presenter!’

‘Delicious duchess,’ wrote one fan in response.

A second added: ‘Anytime you want to be on my show, I’m happy to have your company.’

A third wrote: ‘Well done Duchess.’

Sarah’s new radio special follows Prince Harry’s recent media blitz – which began on Sunday with an interview with ITV’s Tom Bradby.

During the 90-minute special, the father-of-two accused his family of being ‘complicit’ in the ‘pain and suffering’ inflicted on his wife and likened them to ‘abusers’.

Hours later, the Duke’s interview with Anderson Cooper was aired in the US – in which he stated that he “never intended to hurt his family”.

The following day, Prince Harry told Good Morning America that the Queen “knew how difficult it was” for him, but hinted that the late monarch was not “in a position” to change his and Meghan’s role in the royal family. .

Then Prince Harry’s interview with People magazine – where he claimed he had to reveal his 25 Taliban kills for his ‘own healing’ – hit newsstands.

On Tuesday night, Prince Harry appeared on Stephen Colbert’s The Late Show and performed a skit with Tom Hanks mocking the royal family with trumpet fanfare and heralds in uniform.

Sarah’s new radio interview comes after she paid tribute to her former mother-in-law, the Queen, in a New Year’s poem.

The poem read: ‘As the primroses appear on the shores of Windsor so clear, new beginnings, new paths, new rainbows to see, you are held in our hearts, though apart – so welcome 2023 knowing that you are free. Happy New Year.’

She then captioned the poem: ‘We will miss you always dear friend. You remain in our hearts. Happy New Year.’

On her 63rd birthday in October, Sarah snuggled up with Queen’s corgis and called Muick and Sandy ‘gifts that keep on giving’.

Although Sarah and Prince Andrew were divorced in 1996, the Duchess is believed to have remained close to the late Queen.

She spent Christmas with her in 2021 and now also looks after the late Queen’s two corgis – Muick and Sandy – alongside her ex-husband. The former couple still lives at the Royal Lodge in Windsor.

Speaking on the Tea with Twiggy podcast while promoting her Mills & Boon novel Her Heart For A Compass, the Duchess previously paid tribute to the Queen for being “modern, flexible and forgiving”.

Sarah compared their relationship to the one she had with her own mother Susan Barrantes, who passed away in September 1998, saying: ‘I think to myself that honestly my mother-in-law has been more of a mother to me than my mother. ‘
